Scotswood Natural Community Garden
The Scotswood Natural Community Garden is a charity based in Scotswood in Newcastle upon Tyne, it aims to promote learning about nature, the environment and sustainable living. The Garden itself is a beautiful and wild 2 acre site where a range of activities for children and adults are run. The Garden's activities include, educational workshops for schools, volunteering opportunities for adults, a weekly youth club and regular community open days.
The Garden is open to the public during the week from 10 am to 4pm.

How to find us...
By car from the A1
Turn off at the Hexham (A69)/ City West (A186) junction. Follow signs for City West onto the West Road (A186). Turn right at the first roundabout (at the Denton pub) onto Denton Road(A191). Turn left at the next roundabout onto Whickham View (B1311). Take the first right onto Yewcroft Avenue. Go straight on through a residential estate (with speed bumps) until you see the new Academy site straight ahead. Turn left here and you will be able to enter the Newcastle College site through steel gates. You will see the SNCG building straight ahead, it is a detached cottage with yellow shutters.
By car from town:
Take the West Road (A186) from the city centre towards Hexham (A69)/A1. Turn left at the roundabout onto Denton Road (A191) and follow the directions above.
By Bus:
Buses 30, 31 and 38 stop on Whickham View- ask for the john Marley Centre.
